About the role
Silvus is seeking a Quality Control Inspector-I who will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components. Conduct inspections tied to receiving raw materials, parts, components, and fit checks as necessary. Inspect First Article components and subassemblies. Prepare in-process inspection reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Maintain Quality documentation. Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling. Perform other related duties of which the above are representative. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, or similar software. Ability to follow written instructions and maintain accurate records. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts. All employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug test. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or previously held) is highly preferred. Familiarity with electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems is a plus. Prior experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or production environments is preferred; experience with inspection tools such as calipers, microscopes, multimeters, or magnification devices is a plus. Ability to identify workmanship defects, cosmetic issues, and nonconforming conditions within electronic assemblies is preferred. Interest or passion for electronics, technology, aerospace, defense, or related technical industries. Ability to quickly learn technical processes, inspection criteria, and company procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
