Senior Neurosurgeon (Neurovascular)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the total management of patients under your care and work in collaboration with the specialist doctors and other healthcare professionals.
• Providing medical consultation, on-call duties, managing outpatient clinics and any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
• The guidance of experienced neuroradiology faculty members and contribute to the daily running of the diagnostic imaging stations,
• Reporting of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as participating in clinicoradiology rounds and case discussions. You will be required to work shifts and provide other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of specialist experience after specialist registration with a recognised medical authority.
• Must be able to perform general neurosurgery and neurovascular procedures independently .
• Expected to contribute to clinical education and training .
• Specialist Recognition Guidelines
• Specialist registration is regulated by the Singapore Medical Council and the Specialist Accreditation Board.
• UK specialist training is most readily recognised if the candidate is registered with the General Medical Council.
• Preferred qualification for neurosurgery:
• FRCS (UK Based)
• MRCS alone is generally insufficient for specialist recognition.
• The Singapore Medical Council requires detailed documentation including:
• specialist training certificates
• employment history
• hospital postings
• clinical hours
• job scope
• testimonials.
• Eligibility Notes
• No minimum waiting period for doctors who previously worked in Singapore and wish to return.
• Malaysian specialists are eligible only if their specialist training was completed in the UK and recognised by the General Medical Council .
