We are seeking a Staff Assistant in our Audit Services division with keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively while supporting 40 or more professional staff members. Under the direction of the Audit Services Director, this position performs administrative support work necessary to execute components of Audit Services mission and functions. Auditor's Office employees are currently working a hybrid schedule. This position requires a combination of frequent in-person attendance at our Downtown Denver location and occasional remote work. Employees must work from a location within the Denver metro area on their remote (off-site) work days. We provide a computer with all work-related software applications; you must have a stable home internet connection for any remote work. Specific responsibilities include the following: Coordinates specific administrative functions by exercising delegated authority as appropriate. Supports operational objectives or procedures and recommends/creates modifications and/or other solutions by analyzing operational issues and/or addressing management concerns. Recommends and offers informed opinions to management on courses of action based on specialized knowledge. Effectively and accurately prepares, compiles, tracks, updates and maintains internal and external documentation for Audit Services. Communicates and implements Audit Services policy and/or procedural changes. Assists Audit Services staff in adapting to new policies and practices, modifications and/or other solutions. Coordinates with AO Business Manager and AO Executive Assistant to implement, maintain, and monitor expenditure controls for Audit Services. Coordinates all logistics for Audit Services events, training activities, new employee onboarding. Manages scheduling for Audit Services leadership meetings with city officials and agency heads, and assists with Audit Director calendar management if requested. Provides support as requested to the Executive Assistant III for office-wide events, Provides file framework and guidance for tracking training activities for Audit Services division, ensuring that audit staff receive necessary support in tracking and managing CPE requirements. Under guidance of Audit Director, coordinates annual updates, distribution, collection and internal reporting of agency independence statements as required by GAGAS or other relevant auditing standards. By position, participates in budget development by identifying and quantifying both ongoing and special budgetary requirements and provides justifications for requested budget items and amounts. Prepares reports as needed. Responsible for supporting the Auditor's Office vision, goals, and objectives including high professional standards, building effective relationships, while pursuing continuous improvement, innovation, and quality in our work. Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion within Audit Services. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
