The Content Licensing Specialist is a full-time permanent position responsible for maintaining and acquiring market data and other content for Dow Jones' Consumer Products including The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Barrons, MarketWatch and Investor's Business Daily (IBD) and Professional Information products encompassing Dow Jones Knowledge & Insight, Risk & Compliance, Dow Jones Newswires and Factiva. Ensuring current relationships with content suppliers/publishers meet the changing needs and concerns of content integration into Dow Jones Consumer and Professional Information business and service products. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in the review of Market Data needs, suppliers' key decision-makers, identifying needs and concerns, and effectively presenting the benefits of distributing acquired content through Dow Jones' Consumer and Sales offering products. The Content Licensing Specialist will work with management to apply market data policies and procedures, to identify content suppliers/publishers to meet the needs of the business and to build relationships with these suppliers to negotiate future contracts. Moreover, you will facilitate vendor and business strategy management guiding efforts with internal business units and market data vendors. You Will: Cultivate and maintain relationships with market data providers on a global basis; Develop an understanding of Dow Jones' presence and influence in the online and media markets where Dow Jones' brands are valued and respected Develop an understanding of Dow Jones business plans, including market research, product evaluation and due diligence. Support vendor governance activities, issue resolution, and operational coordination. Manage relationships across a portfolio of approximately 60 market data and exchange vendors. Ensure the billing from third party providers is timely, complete and accurate including the preparation of purchase requisitions related to license agreements. Develop an understanding of market data consumption patterns and spend to align with market data vendors and product selections. Evaluate market data and technology trends to drive new initiatives. Ensure Dow Jones's market data inventory is accurate and up to date Assists the Director, Content Licensing in finance related functions including budgeting, forecasting, long range planning and strategy for market data in Dow Jones products and services. Collaborate with team members on audits, installations and removals of market data services Develop an understanding of the vendor management capability that improves alignment between vendor activities and Dow Jones cross-departmental business needs to meet business unit goals Work with the market data operations and engineering teams and procurement to establish workflow processes to ensure appropriate reconciliation for vendor payments and contract negotiations, including effective approaches to investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies and lead vendor discussions to improve vendor performance. Attend market data conferences; develop relationships within market data industry; broadcast developments to stakeholders and obtain industry certification as available (i.e FISD Financial Information Associate certification). Assist in identifying opportunities to expand or enhance existing partnerships and data capabilities. Over 2-4 years of experience in building internal/external business relationships (could have been developed in customer service, sales, purchasing, M&A or consulting).
