Master's degree

Possession of a teaching certificate and/or at least one year of experience providing one-on-one academic support
Professional tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
Certification and experience in special education is also a plus

Intervention Learning Specialists provide 1 on 1 guidance to help students strengthen various academic, time management, and organizational skills.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Job Description
Essential Duties:
Assess individual student learning needs
Help students develop appropriate compensatory learning skills in the areas of study strategies, organization, time management, reading and writing skills, note taking, test taking, etc.
P rovide consistent and systematic structure for the implementation of these skills
Coordinate services with other on-campus academic support providers as needed and in accordance to student need
Maintain an electronic summary of student progress
Communicate effectively with SAASS staff regarding student status and progress
Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings
