Support the NIE faculty in the administration of both internally-funded and externally-funded research grants at the pre and post-award stages.
Facilitate research grant administration processes, including grant applications, completeness checks, grant awards, grant variations, progress reports, final reports, and grant closure processes.
Coordinate research grant administration policies, guidelines as well as terms and conditions in accordance with funding agencies' and Institute's regulations, including compliance requirements.
Provide consultation to research teams on grants processes, budgeting, and guidelines as and when required.
Collaborate with team members in research support initiatives/events that are organised by the Research Support and Grants Management (RSGM) unit.
Design/create grant-related infographics, posters, and/or collaterals for stakeholder communication and events where required.
Maintain the RSGM unit's documents, webpages, databases, records, and SOPs so that they are updated in a timely manner.
Facilitate appointment/reappointment and contract renewals for research staff who will be hired via NIE faculty's research grants.
Liaison officer with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors if necessary.
Organise and provide secretarial and logistical support for NIE internal research grants' review panel meetings, including recording of minutes.
Support the Associate/Assistant Deans in RSGM matters as and when needed.
Any other duties as assigned by the reporting officer.
Requirements
A Polytechnic diploma.
Preferably with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in research development, grant management, or a related role in a university or research setting.
Able to learn fast, multi-task, prioritise, and work within tight timelines.
Possess good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with faculty and staff across various departments.
Strong team player.
Strong numerical skills with an eye for detail with the ability to review and improve research proposals when necessary.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and willingness to learn or use new IT software, AI tools and applications as and when required.
Able to monitor compliance in policies and uphold governance of policies.
Experience in event management will be an added advantage.
Experience in traditional and digital marketing (e.g., designing infographics, website/social media) will be an added advantage.
