About the role

In this role, you will design, implement, validate, and maintain electrical and mechanical test solutions used in Axcelis manufacturing operations. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support new product introduction, optimize test coverage, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency. Your work will directly influence product reliability, cycle time, and throughput-key factors driving the performance of our global customer base. This position provides exposure to a wide range of engineering disciplines, including electronics, mechanical design, automation, instrumentation, data analysis, and troubleshooting of complex test systems.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field

0-2 years of engineering experience (co-op or internship experience welcome)

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with CAD modeling software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD

Understanding of electrical schematics and PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, or similar)

Experience using basic measurement tools and lab equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers

Familiarity with DAQ systems such as National instruments cDAQ, PXI and the associated software like NI LabView and NI TestStand.

Ability to use fabrication tools (hand tools, calipers, 3D printing, basic machining)

Competency with data analysis techniques and tools such as Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar

Familiarity with project management tools such as Gantt charts, Microsoft Project, or Planner

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional engineering teams

Clear verbal and written communication skills
