Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images.
Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., implants, pacemakers).
Administer contrast agents as required.
Monitor patients during scans and ensure comfort and safety.
CT (CAT Scan):
Perform CT scans including trauma, contrast, and non-contrast studies.
Prepare and position patients accurately.
Administer IV contrast following protocol and monitor for reactions.
Perform post-processing and 3D reconstructions as needed.
X-ray:
Conduct general radiographic exams including portable and fluoroscopic procedures.
Ensure proper positioning and technique to minimize radiation exposure.
Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment.
Requirements
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
Licensure/Certification:
ARRT (R) required.
ARRT (CT) and ARRT (MR) certifications preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
State licensure (if applicable).
BLS certification.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in operating MRI, CT, and X-ray equipment.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cross-sectional imaging.
Excellent patient care and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
Work Environment:
Hospital or outpatient imaging center.
Rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call duties may be required.
Exposure to radiation and magnetic fields with appropriate safety measures.
