What your new role will entail: Due to exceptional growth in demand for our services we are currently recruiting for an social impact consultant to join our Environment and Energy Advisory Practice. This role can be based from our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow or London whilst taking advantage of our hybrid flexible working model. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with our highly experienced and specialist social impacts team to deliver a range of social impact, value and advisory projects for infrastructure and multi-national businesses as well as contributing to wider ESG advisory projects. You will gain valuable experience assessing social and equality impacts, designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and conducting social research for some of the UK's highest profile projects. You will also have a role in growing AECOM's social consultancy offer and contribute to the development of innovative approaches for our clients. Depending on your specific technical experience you will be accountable for: Supporting the delivery of projects across a range of social consulting and advisory projects where your activities may include planning, research, measurement, engagement or reporting; Working alongside or supporting team members to build their capacity and expertise; Liaising and collaborating with colleagues, clients and their advisors to deliver work on time, budget and achieving excellence in delivery; Multitasking: working across several projects and proposals at one time; Supporting team members in developing costed proposals and other business development materials (e.g. for webinars, flyers, case studies, etc.); Building positive long-term client relationships; Building internal networks to promote social impact, value and advisory services within AECOM; Supporting the social impacts team leadership and wider Energy Advisory business unit to identify and secure new internal and external opportunities; and Assessing social and equality impacts using a range of social research methods including primary fieldwork, data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and evaluation Being part of the team Our team have been advising our clients on sustainability governance and performance for over 20 years - supporting not only infrastructure and energy but also our industrial clients. Here's what we're looking for: Above all, an interest in how infrastructure projects, policies and plans can impact people and communities; Demonstrated experience and understanding of at least one area below: Knowledge and understanding of the implications of the Equality Act 2010, ideally in relation to planning, major infrastructure, or environmental enhancement schemes. Experience in social and/or equality impact assessment of projects, policies or plans. Experience in basic quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis. Experience in logic modelling/evaluations of projects, policies or plans. An interest in/ experience of project management, including client liaison and the financial management aspects. An interest in/ experience of financial management; An interest in/ experience of business development, marketing, and proposal preparation; Great communication skills in English, fluency in other languages an advantage; Problem solving abilities: Self-starter, who can design and deliver work under own initiative.
