Job Description A Nuclear Assistant Construction Manager supports the lead manager in executing complex nuclear power projects, focusing on regulatory compliance, strict quality assurance, safety protocols, and daily site operations. They help supervise subcontractors, maintain project schedules, track budgets, and ensure all work aligns with nuclear codes and licensing requirements. Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Assist in managing day-to-day construction, modernization, or decommissioning activities to ensure milestones are met on schedule and within budget. Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensures all work adheres to strict nuclear regulatory standards (e.g., DOE or NRC regulations), quality assurance programs, inspection and test plans, drawings, required project quality standards, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies. Constructability Input: Collaborates with engineering and design teams to optimize construction logistics, temporary works, and staging plans early in the project lifecycle. Contract Administration: Help oversee subcontractors, review contractor bids, manage change orders, and prepare requisitions for materials and equipment. Schedule & Budget Monitoring: Works with project controls to track daily / weekly job-site expenditures, optimize construction sequencing, and manage material and equipment deliveries. Communication: Liaise between engineering teams, craft labor, the client, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical discrepancies and mitigate project risks. Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, track materials, and assist in compiling licensing and compliance documentation. Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager Job Profile Minimum Qualifications: Education: A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Related Field, or Equivalent Proven Experience. Typically, ten plus years of relevant work experience in construction management 5+ years of progressive field management experience on large-scale infrastructure, power, or heavy industrial projects. Strong working knowledge of critical path scheduling, cost tracking, hazard identification, and subcontracts management. Ability to meet physical demands: When working on an active construction site, may work in rough or uneven terrain. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Occasional climbing, bending / crouching.
