Position Summary and Qualifications:
Saint Joseph's University's Department of English and Writing has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester at SJU's Hawk Hill campus. Saint Joseph's University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certificate programs. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook.
