You will manage the end‑to‑end handling of FOI/EIR requests, ensuring responses are issued within statutory timescales. You will work closely with colleagues across all areas of Scottish Water to help identify, gather and assess the information requested.
Throughout the process, you will ensure responses are accurate, consistent and aligned with guidance from the Scottish Information Commissioner (SIC).
You will provide practical advice and guidance to colleagues on FOI/EIR requirements, supporting informed, consistent and compliant decision‑making, including identifying and managing risks associated with disclosure.
You will ensure requests are effectively logged, allocated and progressed, supporting reporting and continuous improvement of processes and compliance outcomes.
In return, the role offers exposure to a wide range of subject areas and teams across the organisation, providing continual learning opportunities and the chance to develop a broad understanding of Scottish Water's services, operations and how information is used across the business.
Requirements
You will bring a working understanding of FOI, EIR and data protection legislation.
You will demonstrate strong critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to interpret requests, assess information against legislative requirements, and apply exemptions and disclosure decisions in a considered, defensible and proportionate way.
You will be confident communicating clearly and professionally, both in writing and face‑to‑face, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels and explain information‑rights requirements in a practical and accessible way.
You will be able to manage multiple cases simultaneously, often with tight and competing deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
A good understanding of Microsoft Office applications is essential, supporting effective case management, record‑keeping and correspondence.
