Job Summary Lead the 2LoD EDD review and advisory unit for High-Net-Worth (HNW) business within FCC function for providing independent oversight, robust challenge, and expert advisory on complex customer cases from AML/CFT and sanctions perspectives Support MLRO's decision-making, enhance 1LoD EDD quality, drive stakeholder's alignment, and strengthen MI reporting and workflow efficiency The Job Report to CCO & MLRO/MLRO delegate and assume the following duties and responsibilities: Manage and develop the EDD review and advisory unit focusing on High-Net Worth business, ensuring strong delivery and quality advisory support, and stakeholder engagement Perform independent 2LoD's review of complex HNW EDD cases and provide recommendations for cases requiring MLRO/MLRO delegate and/ or Group Compliance approval, ensuring robust rationale and documentation Provide AML/CFT and sanctions advisory to 1LoD and stakeholders on onboarding, servicing, and high-risk customer scenarios Challenge and enhance the quality of EDD conducted by 1LoD, driving consistency and improved documentation standards Act as major contact point of Compliance with other internal stakeholders including Business Distribution, 1LoD Governance, Underwriting and Policy Administration regarding EDD and advisory matters Engage stakeholders and facilitate regular alignment meetings on EDD practices, requirements, and risk interpretation Produce MI on case volumes, turnaround time, risk trends, and quality findings, with actionable insights Support workflow automation and process enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, and control effectiveness Ensure strong governance, policy adherence, and readiness for audit and regulatory review Coach and guide team members and contribute to capability development within the FCC team The Person Bachelor's degree in law, business or finance Previous experience in a senior role in insurance companies or banks is highly preferrable Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in insurance, financial services industry or regulatory bodies in legal, compliance, management, or internal control functions is highly preferrable Solid experience in EDD, FATCA/CRS, Sanctions advisory work, especially in HNW business, and knowledge in Bermuda and other countries' regulations are an advantage Professional qualifications in financial crime risk is an asset Sound understanding of insurance regulatory and financial crime frameworks Practical knowledge of applicable AML/CFT, sanctions, ABC and related regulatory requirements Strong knowledge of HNW customer risk indicators, source of wealth assessment, beneficial ownership review, and reputational risk considerations Strong report writing and documentation skills, including the ability to articulate risk rationale clearly and concisely Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance Strong sense of responsibility with a positive and proactive attitude Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk issues clearly to business and senior stakeholders Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across functions and seniority levels Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement and escalate issues appropriately Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure Detail‑oriented with a risk‑based and solution‑focused mindset We offer 5-day work, 20-22 days annual leaves, excellent learning & development opportunities and an attractive package to the right candidate.
