About the role
Performs laboratory tests required by Saybolt's clients with supervision, to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client. General Responsibilities Analyst I shall assist other chemists from the department and Chief Analyst or Laboratory Account Managers in his responsibility duties of the laboratory. Analyst I are responsible for the efficient work within the laboratory, so that he can meet client needs accurately and in time. The functions to be developed by the chemists, are mainly included within the laboratory activity, so that the development and fulfillment of the functions of the description of each Job, including the specific service of standby, constitute a function of the job and are carried out within the ordinary working day, as long as they are carried out as effective working time. Is responsible for and takes care of running the analysis at the lowest possible costs, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of service and maintenance of assets. Senior Analyst must ensure full cooperation with his department and his Managers on all assignments. Must follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, etc. Must keep himself updated and aware of all updates and act accordingly. Chemists or Lab Analysts are expected to exhibit professional appearance and attitude. They are also expected to act in harmony with fellow employees. Analyst I reports directly to Chief Analyst and/or Laboratory Account Managers.
Requirements
- Education and/or experience:
- A B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or a related field and at least 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Chemists or Lab Analysts must be ready to accept job assignments at any time, including scheduled days off. Overtime must be worked as required. Attendance at monthly safety meetings is required.
- Analyst I are able to read and understand all analysis and safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory with some assistance of his managers and work partners with some assistance in case of needed.
- Able to set up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment for which the Chemist or Lab Analyst has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice with some supervision.
- Perform basic analytical tests from well-defined standards and procedures as required by the Location Manager or senior management staff. Chemists or Lab Analysts must be

- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
- Calibrate laboratory instruments for which the Chemist or Lab Analyst has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice with some supervision.

- Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.
- Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into Saybolt's laboratory computer programs.
- Able to perform and maintain laboratory procedures, equipment calibration, control charting, documentation and records in full compliance with the quality assurance program outlined in Saybolt's quality manua
