Full-Time Physician Assistant, Dr. Ayoosh Pareek (New York and New Jersey)
Hospital for Special Surgery, ranked #1 in Orthopedics for the past 16 years, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to work directly with Dr. Ayoosh Pareek, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee, and shoulder surgery with a focus on sports medicine and joint preservation.
This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing, high-volume orthopedic practice, and play a foundational role in its development. The PA will work across both clinic and operating room settings in a dynamic, multi-site practice spanning Manhattan and Northern New Jersey.
There are no weekend shifts or overnight call, with the exception of occasional weekend patient phone calls.
Ideal for a motivated PA seeking a high-impact, career-building role within a growing orthopedic practice. Previous experience in orthopedics is a plus, though not required.
Evaluate and manage patients in clinic (new and follow-up)
Assist in surgical procedures as first assist
Perform in-office procedures, including injections (with opportunity to learn ultrasound-guided techniques)
Support pre- and post-operative care, including patient counseling and coordination
Review imaging with progression toward independent interpretation
Assist with documentation, prior authorizations, and patient communication
Practice Structure
Multi-site practice: Upper East Side (Manhattan) and Paramus/Mahwah (NJ)
5 days/week, no in-house call; limited weekend patient calls
Reliable transportation required
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited PA program, eligible for or currently licensed in New York and New Jersey, BLS/ACLS certification and NCCPA board certification are required.
Also, the candidate must have a current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course. The PA must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
Surgical experience or training is preferred.
Previous experience in orthopedics is highly desired but not required.

Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $156,576.13 - $173,563.63. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
