Position Summary and Qualifications:
Saint Joseph's University's Department of Teaching, Learning, & Behavioral Studies has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct/affiliate faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate Special Education courses each semester. Knowledge of Special Education in any of the following content areas is desired: High incidence disabilities (including specific learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral disorders), ASD, low incidence disabilities, and transition planning. Courses may be in-person on campus or online.
If you have expertise in teaching any of the following content areas, please highlight that in your resume/CV: special education law and policy, inclusive education, mental health, special education assessment, and/or curriculum and instruction. Professionals with experience in teaching online courses in higher education will be given preference.

SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional experience, and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support and guidance to students
Instruct an assigned course, providing syllabi and other instructional materials
Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
Report grades at midterm and final times.
Providing student learning outcomes data when asked.
