This position serves as a Team Leader to twelve or more employees in accomplishing Transportation department duties in the Transportation unit, Facility Management Department of the Facility Support Directorate located in the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in North Chicago, IL. Physical Effort: Incumbents must have muscular and visual coordination, rapid reflexes, and depth and field of vision must be within normal limits. Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads weighing up to fifty pounds without assistance while employing correct lifting procedures. Hand trucks, dollies and other workers are available for assistance with lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads weighing more than fifty pounds. Must also be able to stop, climb, stand, walk, squat and kneel to accomplish assigned work tasks. Working Conditions: Work is performed outdoors in all kinds of weather. Emergency repair work to vehicle may expose the operator to all types of climatic conditions as well as for the hazards of traffic.
