The driver will be hauling dedicated Andersen freight and delivering our windows and doors to our dealers and picking up raw materials to return to the Midwest. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service : Monday - Friday workdays. H ome every weekend! Opportunity for weekend work (volunteer only, as business requires ) Regional delivery routes available with potential for overnights in certain markets. Overnights can range from 2 - 4 nights out per week Quarterly Profit Sharing Safety Incentive - Quarterly Paid Uniform - Annually Safety shoe allowance - Annually Cell Phone Reimbursement - Month ly Training - During onboarding, you will be working with an experienced driver as you learn the job duties , customers' requirements and our portfolio of product s PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain compliance with , and abide by , all Federal DOT R egulations while driving company vehicles . Maintain safe and defensive driving behavior, especially when maneuvering in tight, congested areas or when faced with inclement weather. Maintain proper re cord - keeping to compl y with s tate and f ederal regulation s. This includ es, but is not limited to, driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by state or federal law. Familiarize and adhere to all company policies related to employment (DOT and non-DOT policy). Represent Andersen with professional attitude, appearance and product knowledge Safely assist in the loading and unloading our product at customer's location. Perform occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of windows and doors and ability to use provided material moving equipment for items over 100lbs. Be a ble to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact at Andersen. QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and doubles endorsement if twin trailers are pulled at location. Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record. 2 years' previous tractor-trailer driving experience , including winter driving experience (and chaining where applicable) . Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain logs, etc. Strong verbal communication skills Ability to follow instructions and navigate on board computer technology to receive important messaging . Able to w ork independently and as part of a team Working knowledge of tractor safety and control systems Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations which govern safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection and maintenance. Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Pass DOT pre-employment screening, inclusive of a drug test. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for extended periods of time. Ability to operate tractor safely.
