This role supports the upkeep of more than 40 acres of athletic fields and outdoor recreation spaces through safe and skilled operation of equipment including zero-turn lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, utility vehicles, snow removal equipment, and various hand and power tools. Daily responsibilities include lawn mowing and string trimming, maintaining and grooming approximately 12 acres of synthetic athletic fields, maintaining sand volleyball courts, and completing trash and debris cleanup across outdoor sports and recreation facilities. The position also assists with the maintenance of grounds equipment and related sports equipment to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and ready for use by the campus community. Key Job Responsibilities: Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures Performs routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness Maintains clean and clear lawns, athletic fields, outdoor courts, and walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice Responsible for mowing natural grass and maintaining and grooming artificial turf Department: Grounds Services
