About the role
Key Tasks Perform structural and aerodynamic load analysis. Develop, validate and maintain dynamic and aeroelastic models using CAMRAD II, FLIGHTLAB, Simulink, and NASTRAN. Support structural test campaigns including static and dynamic testing, modal analysis, and Ground Vibration Testing (GVT). Analyze vibration phenomena and contribute to the design and tuning of dampers and passive/active mitigation solutions. Evaluate system stability in both low- and high-frequency domains. Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-A-8866). Support flight and ground test activities, including instrumentation definition and data analysis. Interface with control systems engineers to integrate loads and dynamics considerations into flight control strategy. Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and reports for internal use and qualification purposes. Qualifications MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field, with a specialization in flight dynamics, structural dynamics, or aeroelasticity. Hands-on experience with structural testing (static and dynamic), GVT, and vibration analysis. Proficiency with engineering software such as MATLAB, Simulink, FLIGHTLAB, CAMRAD II, and NASTRAN. Strong understanding of helicopter aeromechanics, aeroelastic phenomena, and structural loads methodology. Familiarity with aerospace certification standards including DO-160 and relevant MIL-STD documents. Experience in analyzing damping strategies and system stability for rotorcrafts. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. Fluent in English (written and spoken). German desirable. Eligibility: Swiss or EU citizens only.
