Internship: Quandela's Algorithms and Applications (H2/2026)

Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀 Description of the Project The internship will focus on the development of quantum algorithms for optimisation (e.g., Quantum Approximate Optimisation Algorithm (QAOA)) using a simulator, tools and optimisation techniques already implemented. More specifically, the focus will be on investigating advanced training methods such as Natural Gradient optimisation. The project will also build on previous work on Branch-and-Bound methods, with the objective of connecting them to the QAOA simulation framework and adapting the full pipeline to Quandela's fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture. The expected outcome is a functional QAOA simulator and a complete BnB-QAOA framework tailored to Quandela's architecture. You are currently enrolled in a university or in a higher education program in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related fields This position is only valid with an Internship Agreement. You are curious and love solving problems You have experience with, or strong interest in quantum computing or quantum information theory Coding skills are appreciated (e.g., Python, C/C++, Julia etc.) Have a background in computer science or physics Programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, Julia) Knowledge and/or experience in quantum algorithms is a benefit Swile Card (meal vouchers) 🍴🛒 50% participation in transportation costs 🚆 Possibility of remote work 💻 Internship Allowance between €1,200 and €1,400 per month 💰 1,5 days off per month, cumulative 🧳 What we also offer A challenging and innovative work environment at the heart of quantum computing.
