Torch Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Air Vehicle team within the System Program Office (SPO). As a Mechanical Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: Review and provide engineering recommendations on vendor's change notices, short-term and long-term corrective actions, and design changes. Ensures design changes met or improve system performance and requirements. Review and provide technical recommendations for contractor deliverables (e.g. request for variances, test plans, test reports). Perform independent assessment of vendor's analyses, models, and test for airworthiness, system integration, and design verification events. Assess Technical Data Package (TDP) non-conformances. Determine and characterize impacts or risk to airworthiness, safety, test objectives, system functionality or performance. Determine appropriate verification methods, with vendor, for system and subsystem performance specifications. Provide engineering rationale for verification methods, data collection, and fulfillment of requirement(s) during Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and System Verification Review (SVR). Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation methods. Manage tasks and effectively collaborate with multiple teams, organizations, and stakeholders for engineering dispositions and joint-test activities. Communicate concerns, risks, and engineering recommendations to leadership for successful disposition of engineering products and on-time execution of program schedule. Support Air Vehicle IPT at program office Risk Management Board, Configuration Control Board, CDRL Review Board, Variance Review Board, and other meetings as needed. Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent discipline. Must have at 3 years in mechanical engineering experience or equivalent. Must have an active SECRET DoW security clearance. Must be eligible for a TOP SECRET clearance. This position requires candidates to possess a current Secret security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance at the required level will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position. Preferred Skills: Design or manufacturing experience. System and subsystem qualification analysis and test experience. Thermal engineering experience. Program office experience.
