About the role
You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the MATERIAL KITTING BRANCH (CODE 531), JOB READINESS CELL DIVISION, SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience following supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions. * Experience conducting extensive searches for required information, reconstructing records for complex supply transactions, and providing supply operations support for activities. * Experience ensuring local supply requirements are met while providing supply support for production, overhaul, and repair of submarine shipboard components. * Experience reviewing requisitions, supporting documents, and referencing material to determine the priority supply action required. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience properly identifying material handling requirements for all items regardless of material condition. * Experience ensuring the proper handling, storage, documentation, and disposition of all items. * Experience maintaining Point Of Use (POU) areas and working with shipyard shops to ensure the right resourcing of the areas. * Experience determining the age and probable condition of materials by checking records, contacting local vendors, physically inspecting records, and arranging for transfer of property.
