Pay Range: $105,654.00 - $174,330.00 Supervisory Organization: AVP Maintenance of Way Country: United States of America Address: 3021 OAK LANE City: DALLAS, TX 75226 FLSA: Exempt Professionals: 01 - Official Administrator (EEO-4-United States of America), 1B - Managers and Directors (EEO-SubCategory) General Summary: Manages the resources and activities of personnel engaged in the inspection, maintenance, and repair for the Traction Electrification Systems (TES) Division including the overhead catenary system and substations, salary, and hourly employee supervision, operating and capital budgets, management of vendor contracts and expenditures, capital projects and state of good repair (SGR) project oversight for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART's) Maintenance of Way (MOW) Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages and develops programs, procedures, and standards for the Traction Electrification System (TES) Division. Interfaces with the Technical Services Division, engineers, and contractors to resolve maintenance problems and reviews design plans for build-out and develops specifications for procurement of materials and equipment required to maintain the TES system. Manages and directs the performance of detailed maintenance, repairs, modifications, etc. to Traction Electrification Systems. Develops work schedules, as well as preventative maintenance, repair, upgrade, and equipment installation schedules. Interviews, selects, develops, trains, evaluates, counsels, and if necessary, disciplines subordinate personnel according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Enforces safety policies and reviews/analyzes problem areas to determine need for improved procedures. Develops budget estimates for the Traction Electrification Systems (TES) Division and manages expenditures within approved budget and provides monthly variance explanations for the division. Prepares and files reports on work activities of Traction Electrification Systems (TES) Division, and on any accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences. Authorizes requisitions for materials, parts, and supplies. Monitors usage and coordinates needs with Material Management Division. Operates mobile and hand-held radio. Performs various duties to include responding to emergency conditions, coordinating with outside contractors, and assisting with the development and promotion of capital projects. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Note : An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electronics, Industrial Electrical Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the maintenance of rail traction power systems or industrial electrical maintenance/construction, including five (5) years experience supervising a staff in maintenance activities and technical support programs. Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles. Knowledge of budget development/analysis, and operational cost factors. Proficiency of PC software applications to include Microsoft Office or other related software applications. Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, technical and administrative problems. Operates mobile and hand-held radio. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
