This position is not eligible for sponsorship of U.S. work visas Position Summary: The Quality Engineer will function in a dynamic Product Development Team and will work closely with the engineering department and Senior Electronics Engineers to help document functional, regulatory and environmental requirements for electronic products and systems. In addition, the Quality Engineer shall support both Legacy and New product designs related to quality issues. The Quality engineer will work with the RMA department to identify trends that will help identify quality issues and work with engineering to correct the issues. The Quality engineer will work with engineering and help guide and make sure we are following our ISO requirements and standards. Essential Functions: Position requirements include, but are not limited to: Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Work with Engineering to develop standards that will be used across the different business units, so hardware is developed to the same standards and quality. Work directly with the various Contract manufactures to address problems and develop standards to be utilized. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues. Support Purchasing and Contract Manufactures to coordinate with engineering on supply chain issues and part replacements. Help manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of both supplier quality issues and Quality issues from Contract Manufactures. Assist with on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of Contract Manufacture quality issues. Administers and oversee all ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements related to all sites as required. Work with engineering to validate the Electronic department processes and resources are being followed during development. Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures as required by Quality / ISO commitments. Review product specifications necessary to establish quality and reliability objectives for the Electronics department. Be part of all first article inspections of product being received from Contract Manufactures. Mine and investigate issue data gathered by tech & customer service to identify trends or incipient field issues and call for action to prevent minor issues from growing into larger problems. Work across the 4 NA business units. All other duties as assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in either quality, engineering, supply chain management or manufacturing processes. Must be able to travel as needed to support regional activities. 5+ years' experience with at least 2 years in a supplier quality role. Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to company management as well as customer staff for reporting and/or training purposes. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations in such areas as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, factor analysis, and abstract calculus theory as pertaining to design and validation methodologies. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of abstract and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulae and equations, graphs, etc.). Knowledge, Skills and Required Abilities: Microsoft Office Suite Six Sigma/Lean skills.
