Advise product, technology, and business teams on privacy, AI, and cybersecurity compliance, including privacy-by-design principles.
Support Nasdaq Verafin's strategic growth in the United Kingdom and European Union including leading Data Protec tion Impact Assessments (DPIA) , maintaining G DPR compliance program, and evaluating the application of the EU AI Ac t to services
Identify and interpret new compliance requirements arising from global laws and regulations.
Serve as an escalation point for privacy and AI-related contract negotiations and engagement point for client Data Protection Officers and privacy attorneys .
Support public policy initiatives and draft responses to regulatory proposals impacting Nasdaq Verafin .
Participate in incident response and deliver privacy-related training across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree. And be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or Ontario or eligible for membership.
5-8 years of experience in privacy, AI, or emerging technology law.
Strong ability to collaborate across business, technology, and risk teams to deliver practical solutions.
Clear communicator with experience in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
Knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR, PIPEDA and US privacy laws.
Requirements
IAPP or similar professional certification
Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated industries.
Exposure to global teams and cross-border compliance challenges.

As an Associate General Counsel, reporting to the Global Chief Compliance Officer you'll play a lead role in managing privacy and AI compliance. Supporting product development and advising on customer engagement for Nasdaq Verafin as part of Nasdaq's Global Ethics and Compliance Team.
