Administrative Partner services 2 functional areas. These functional areas are in the Hospital and Dietary. An Administrative Partner within the Unit functional Area through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, and other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. An Administrative Partner within the Dietary Functional Area is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting for cash operations at Food & Nutrition retail operations as well as the "back office" POS system, including the maintenance of product (PLU) database & menu grids. Responsible for all aspects of cash handling, reconciliation, deposits, safe funds & change bank. Also responsible for general office work and covering breaks for cashiers as needed. Job Duties Refer to Additional Responsibilities for additional responsibilities for your functional area. Answers telephone following hospital standard for telephone etiquette and directs calls to the appropriate party. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with Hospital Staff and patients. Demonstrates ability to use the computer systems and all applicable software programs. Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs for hospital and functional area. Responsible for the inventory of the functional area. Ensures that supplies are stored in a manner that is neat, tidy, and meets regulatory standards. Reorders and restocks as necessary. Also ensure usage dates and replaces any outdated supplies. Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner. Participates in Performance Improvement Activities as assigned by the Pl Representatives. Communicates appropriately and clearly to supervisors, nurse managers, co-workers and physicians regarding patient needs. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED experience in an office environment for the dietary functional area Knowledge of MS office products such as MS Word and Excel American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Preferred Qualifications Less than 1 year previous clerical experience Hospital office experience Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
