About the role
The School of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University provides Western Australia's only Veterinary Science course and is responsible for the training and development of graduates within our internationally recognised degree programme, fully accredited by AVMA, RCVS and AVBC. Small Animal Medicine is a key discipline within this school that contributes to the teaching of all veterinary students, conducts postgraduate research and specialist clinical training programmes, offers continuing professional development to practitioners within Western Australia and beyond, contributes to research of international standard, and provides a clinical referral service for the Animal Hospital, delivering high quality veterinary care to dogs and cats within the community. Your New Role! As a Senior Lecturer, you will make substantial contributions to the small animal medicine service. Within the role, you will contribute to the teaching programme in small animal medicine, which entails the creation and maintenance of material that is aligned with other course content, and delivered within the agreed teaching strategy. Unit coordination is also expected with this role. In addition, you will contribute to leadership of the clinical service, through consulting, as well as supervision and training of both undergraduate and graduate students. Alongside teaching responsibilities, you will aid development of clinical research within the School by securing competitive grants, delivering appropriate research outputs, and supporting resident research requirements, whilst engaging with industry and/or other external stakeholders to develop partnerships and progress the interests of the College and the University. There is flexibility to allow you to develop new and innovative clinical, teaching and research directions, and to place more emphasis on either teaching or research depending on your interests and career goals.
