Responsibilities

  • External Innovation Scouting
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and track emerging bioconjugation technologies across China, including novel conjugates, linkers, payloads, and enabling chemistries and enabling analytical and manufacturing approaches
  • Monitor academic research, biotech startups, CRO/CDMOs, bioconjugation/ ADC platform companies, and Venture Fund activities (for company creation) for breakthrough or differentiating technologies.

  • Translate opportunities into clear value propositions for internal R&D, strategy, and business stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain a strong external network in China, including universities, research institutes, biotech companies, incubators, innovation hubs, and VCs.
  • Represent the company at scientific conferences, partnering events, and site visits within China and Asia.
  • Track competitive activity, technology trends, and policy or funding developments relevant to bioconjugation in China.
  • Track IP landscape in China - supported by internal IP team,
  • Provide periodic landscape overviews and trend summaries to senior R&D and innovation leadership.
  • Internal Interface & Alignment
  • Act as a bridge between China based innovation and global R&D teams, in particular the Oss ADS licensing team and the Oss R&D team and Global Innovation, ensuring effective communication across geographies and cultures.
  • Collaborate closely with internal experts in chemistry, biologics, CMC, translational science, Global innovation and IP to refine opportunity assessments.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and external innovation strategies in the bioconjugation space.
  • Support early opportunity shaping for collaborations, licensing, or research partnerships

Requirements

  • Degree:Ph.D. in Science, an equivalent professional qualification or occupational experience.
  • Field of Study:Chemistry, biology, biochemical engineering, biochemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Scouting (Search & Evaluation)
  • Advanced degree in chemistry, chemical biology, bioconjugation, or related field.
  • Track record in identifying novel technologies and moving technologies forward
  • At least 5 years of experience in Scouting (Search & Evaluation)
  • Strong understanding of bioconjugation technologies and modalities relevant to modern therapeutics and novel bioconjugates modalities with application in and outside cancer therapy (neurodegeneration, autoimmune disease, inflammation, Genetics Medicine).
  • Experience in China's biotech or academic ecosystem; bilingual capability (Mandarin/English) required.
  • Ability to operate at the interface of science, strategy, and external collaboration.
  • Demonstrated Scientific Credibility & Thought Leadership
  • Credible scientific counterpart in discussions with external innovators and internal subject matter experts.
