Joining MOE DXD's Tf(x) team will place you at the forefront of transforming education through technology. As part of our innovative unit, you will create bespoke tools tailored specifically for educators, empowering them to streamline processes, enrich classroom experiences, and inspire the next generation of learners. In this role, your technical expertise will intersect with visionary educational goals. Expect yourself to collaborate with experienced educators, product/ops managers, software engineers and designers to rapidly prototype innovative solutions that tackle key challenges in the education sector. You will be working in an environment that encourages continuous learning through hands-on guidance and mentorship. Be prepared to utilise a continuous integration engineering pipeline and an iterative design process to streamline both development and testing. [What you will be working on] You wi ll work in Tf(x), a team of product/ops managers, software engineers and designers (formerly Transform ): " We're a dynamic team, equally driven by our passion for making a positive impact and our dedication to our craft. Whether we're developing robust software or designing user-centric experiences, we ensure that everything we do is delivered at our best." Your job scope with our team is as follows: Develop bespoke digital tools to help schools and teachers address their operational and administrative pain-points. You will join a team of software engineers, product managers and designers to establish a digital product team with the broad objective of building bespoke products for MOE officers and educators. This includes data analytics tools for analysing student results, profiling tools to identify at-risk students, and even an ops-readiness digital product to ready schools for emergencies such as COVID-19. Much of the work will be synthesised from hackathons, user discovery sessions, workshops and rapid prototyping. Modernise the School Cockpit IT system and reorganise the engineering team structure. The School Cockpit is a critical system used by schools and educators for school administrative tasks and aggregating student information across Singapore. The vision is for MOE to re-conceptualise this long-standing system into a collection of applications with potential reuseability across the entire MOE ecosystem. Aside from engineering work, there will be an opportunity to work with MOE's engineering partners in the private sector, and transform the way public-private engineering partnerships have traditionally worked in MOE. Facilitate the transfer of central engineering knowledge from GovTech to MOE. You will be working with a product team who has previously built central products (e.g. SafeEntry, TraceTogether and OurSG Grants Portal) and Artificial Intelligence products that look into the extraction, synthesis and usage of data in government agencies. You will work with the team to actively transfer such intellectual property and know-how gradually into the MOE IT ecosystem, through strategic placement in apps.
