Experience using Revit for structural and infrastructure design.
Experience with Navisworks for model integration, coordination, and clash detection.

Strong understanding of Canadian structural and civil design codes and standards, including seismic design requirements in Western Canada.

AECOM Western Canada is hiring a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer, responsible for the design and delivery of civil and structural systems for bulk materials handling and marine terminal projects within the Ports & Marine sector. The incumbent will work independently across all project phases, contribute to multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Prepare and check civil and structural design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for bulk materials handling and marine infrastructure projects including conveyor galleries, transfer towers, wharf and terminal structures, foundations, retaining systems, loading and unloading facilities, and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and review detailed structural and civil models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Lead civil and structural design activities from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Prepare and review grading, drainage, site development, foundation, and structural designs for port and terminal facilities.
- Review and coordinate designs with other disciplines including geotechnical, marine, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and project specifications including relevant port, marine, seismic, and structural design requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers and designers.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to deliver high-quality, technically sound design outputs.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, risk evaluations, and project coordination meetings.
- Manage deliverable registers, revision control, and quality assurance of own outputs.
- Support site investigations, construction activities, and field reviews as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering + minimum 6 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering related to industrial infrastructure, bulk materials handling systems, ports, marine facilities, heavy civil infrastructure, or similar projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting engineering projects through detailed design phases and construction support activities.
- Professional Engineer (PEng) designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain PEng registration within the next 12 months.
