Requirements

  • Experience teaching English in middle school, upper school, or higher educational settings Professionals in industry or related fields or with non-traditional paths to education are also encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
  • Experience working with and supporting a diverse community of students, parents, and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience working in independent schools is preferred but not required
  • Candidates with experience in the International Baccalaureate (IB) are especially encouraged to apply

Newark Academy is accepting applications for a potential position in the English Department, adding to a dedicated and dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching English, a passion for literature, writing, and media, and a demonstrated capacity to embrace student-centered, skills-focused, and culturally competent practices.
