About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our supportive team in Manurewa on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This dynamic role combines end-to-end payroll management with providing general administrative and transactional support to the finance team. Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you'll be the go-to expert for all things related to payroll ensuring our people are paid accurately, on time, every time. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process and play a key role in keeping everything compliant and running smoothly. What will you do End-to-end payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and compliance Maintain payroll governance and compliance to support identification and resolution of payroll risks and issues. Handling leave reconciliations, journals, and EOFY processes Ensure all payroll processes align perfectly with current New Zealand employment legislation, Holiday Act requirements, and KiwiSaver updates. Execute weekly payroll processing for 200-300 wage employees and manage monthly payroll runs for 100-150 salaried staff. Keeping our payroll systems (ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, Workday) updated Assisting with payroll reporting, audits, compliance, and continuous improvement projects. Collaborating with HR and Finance to keep everything moving Provide general administrative and transactional support to the finance team, including processing invoices, expenses, and journal entries. Assist with account reconciliations and month-end activities as required. About you 3-5 years of comprehensive payroll experience, ideally managing end-to-end payroll for 200+ employees. Proven ability to process complex payrolls in accordance with the Holidays Act 2003 and NZ payroll legislation. Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, Time and Attendance, or Workday will be an added advantage. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Advanced Excel skills and a high standard of data accuracy. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and resolving system or data issues. Proactive, collaborative team player who can also work independently. Excellent time management, coordination, and prioritisation skills, with keen attention to detail and analytical approach. Flexible, adaptable, and customer-focused with a positive, can-do attitude. Must have New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa with full work rights. Why join us?
