About the role
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Facilities Mechanics and Engineering Technicians across multiple shifts. Oversee operation and maintenance of utility systems including HVAC, clean steam generators, chillers, USP/DI water systems, boilers, air compressors, and refrigeration systems. Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, including bioprocess equipment such as fermenters, bioreactors, centrifuges, TFF systems, chromatography skids, incubators, and CTUs. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and calibration programs for facility and process systems using CMMS. Ensure proper functionality and monitoring of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems. Generate and maintain SOPs, job aids, and maintenance records for equipment and systems. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment maintenance, calibration, and repairs. The candidate: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience in maintenance or engineering. Minimum 2 years of demonstrated leadership capability gained through supervisory roles or senior/lead technician experience, including coordinating work, mentoring staff, or directing technical activities. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with calibration, preventive maintenance, and CMMS systems. Proficiency in automation and control systems operations and troubleshooting. Understanding of GMP, regulatory compliance, and cleanroom operations. Class III Stationary Engineer's License preferred. The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $95,000 - $120,000 plus an annual bonus target.
