Senior Java Architect - Cloud Migration

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing on-premises application architectures and identify migration requirements.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect Kubernetes-based container orchestration solutions for enterprise applications.
• Develop technical architecture blueprints and migration roadmaps.
• Lead application migration initiatives from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Define cloud-native development, deployment, and operational best practices.
• Establish architecture standards aligned with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, security, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Support the design and implementation of microservices-based architectures.
• Guide CI/CD pipeline adoption and DevOps best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, governance requirements, and organizational policies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
• Evaluate risks and recommend mitigation strategies throughout migration activities.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical challenges.
• BPSS eligibility required.
• Extensive experience as a Java Architect designing large-scale enterprise applications required.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL required.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration required.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment required.
• Proven experience migrating applications from on-premises environments to cloud platforms required.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles required.
• Experience with microservices architecture required.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices required.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices required.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills required.
• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform preferred.
• Experience with Cloud Deployment Manager preferred.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and Google Cloud monitoring solutions preferred.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification preferred.
• Kubernetes certifications preferred.
