About the role
Our Technology team drives the evolution of our Technology, Engineering, Data, Product and User Experience functions. With a keen focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions, we shape the digital landscape for our customers, readers, and users. From revolutionizing visuals to optimizing tools and harnessing the power of data, mobile, video, and social platforms, our team is committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience across all touchpoints. Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners, we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies. We're hiring a Principal Product Manager to own DJ's shared AI/ML infrastructure layer. This is not an AI experiences role - it is the foundational platform role that makes every AI experience at the company possible. The PM we hire will define and drive the services, frameworks, and APIs that product teams across Dow Jones depend on to ship AI features faster, more consistently, and with greater safety. Without this role, teams build duplicative, inconsistent AI stacks. With it, DJ ships AI with a shared foundation - reusable evals, common guardrails, consistent model access, and reliable orchestration. This is one of the highest-leverage roles in the product organization. You Will: Own the product strategy and roadmap for DJ's shared AI/ML infrastructure: model abstraction layers, evaluation frameworks, LLM orchestration, guardrails, and reusable AI services as internal APIs. Design the AI Foundations platform for internal developer customers - product teams across the company - ensuring the platform is easy to adopt, well-documented, and trusted. Define evaluation standards and tooling that give teams a reliable way to measure and improve the quality, safety, and consistency of their AI features. Drive adoption of shared AI services across multiple product teams - this requires strong internal product marketing instincts, not just technical delivery. Work directly with ML engineers and data scientists as primary collaborators, earning credibility through technical depth and product rigor. Identify duplication and inconsistency across current AI implementations and build a consolidation roadmap that reduces long-term technical debt. You Have: 10+ years of product management experience, with direct experience owning AI/ML platform products - not AI-powered features, but the infrastructure layer underneath them. Deep familiarity with evals design, LLM orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering infrastructure, guardrails, and model lifecycle management - you understand how these components work together and where they break. Strong API product sense: you know how to design platforms for internal developer customers, with attention to DX, versioning, documentation, and adoption. Track record of driving adoption of shared platform capabilities across multiple product teams - you have done the organizational work of getting teams off custom implementations and onto shared infrastructure. Comfort working with ML engineers and data scientists as primary collaborators - you can engage in technical discussions at depth without needing to be an engineer yourself. Advanced knowledge of complex systems architecture; ability to translate technical possibilities into business impact and participate in architectural trade-off decisions.
