Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical & Functional Expertise
Working knowledge of high purity water system operations in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing environment.
Proficient mechanical aptitude, including hands on use of mechanical tools and general knowledge of electrical systems related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, interpret operating parameters and data, and perform corrective maintenance effectively.
Experience executing preventive maintenance in accordance with established maintenance plans and standard work.
Familiarity with confined space procedures, environmental guidelines, safety standards, and ergonomic practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) modules.

Job Description
Position Summary:
The Water Systems & Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of high purity water, steam, and solution production systems supporting manufacturing operations. This role integrates Water Technician operational responsibilities with mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment performance, regulatory compliance, and minimal impact to production.
The role supports production critical equipment within the water room and manufacturing areas and responds to both scheduled preventive maintenance and unplanned equipment failures in alignment with safety, GMP, and BD quality requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain high purity water, steam, and solution production systems supporting manufacturing operations.
Perform all core Water Technician operational activities, including batching support, tank operations, system flushing, cleaning, sanitization, and routine monitoring.
Execute preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on water room and production critical manufacturing equipment in accordance with approved procedures and GMP requirements.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
Monitor equipment performance using logbooks, data sheets, and operating trends to identify abnormal conditions and address issues prior to breakdown.
Perform routine water quality monitoring and escalate abnormal trends in accordance with established procedures.
Document operational and maintenance activities accurately in SAP/CMMS and required records.
Provide timely technical support during production critical events and support rapid equipment turnaround.
Support training and knowledge sharing within the Water Technician team related to equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
Comply with all BD safety policies, quality system requirements, and site procedures .
Maintain clean, organized, and inspection ready equipment areas.
Support audits, inspections, and validation activities as required.
Work flexibly, including off shift or extended hours, based on operational and production needs .
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred
