Banner Health is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect - AI & Data to help define and shape the technology foundation for the organization's next generation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise data platforms. This role is part of Banner's Enterprise Architecture organization and is responsible for establishing the strategic architecture, standards, and technology roadmaps for generative AI, large language models (LLMs), advanced analytics, and data engineering solutions across the health system. The architect will collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, compliance, and business teams to design scalable, secure, and HIPAA-compliant solutions leveraging technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Bedrock, Databricks, LangChain, LangSmith, CData, and BannerWise, Banner Health's internally developed AI platform. This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in accelerating Banner's AI and data transformation while helping improve clinical, operational, and business outcomes across one of the nation's largest nonprofit healthcare systems. In this role, a typical day includes leading architecture workshops, developing reference architectures and technical standards, evaluating emerging AI and data technologies, and guiding engineering teams in the design and implementation of enterprise solutions. The Enterprise Architect - AI & Data will review solution proposals, participate in architecture governance and security reviews, and work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical and innovative technology strategies. The ideal candidate combines deep experience in enterprise and data architecture with strong knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and cloud-based platforms. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for developing the architectural artifacts, models, patterns, and transition initiatives and activities ensuring strategic initiatives and goals are achievable, operationally efficient, technically sound, and accounted for. In addition, this position has responsibility for one or more architecture domains including business and clinical application, data, technology, and security architecture. Acting as a contributing member of the enterprise architecture team this role will develop architectural artifacts, roadmaps, and strategy documentation. This role will educate and influence key stakeholders throughout the enterprise, acting as an advocate and steward for our information assets. CORE FUNCTIONS 1.
