Requirements

• Preferred Certifications:
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Florida Health and Safety Officer (OHS)
• Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
• Occupational Health and Safety Trainer (OHST)
• Training in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards (29 CFR 1910.156)
• If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
• Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
• Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Salary Range $35.98-$45.87 Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting 06-25-2026 Job Summary The Fire Occupational Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive occupational health and safety programs for the Fire Department. The incumbent provides guidance and technical experience to ensure the safety and well-being of all department personnel during emergency and non-emergency operations. The position oversees occupational health and safety, assists in safety investigations, develops safety policies, issues bulletins, and serves as the department's liaison with external occupational health agencies. Work is performed independently under the direction of the Fire Chief and Deputy Chief and is reviewed through reports and results achieved.
