We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. SUMMARY OF THE JOB The Test Engineer is responsible for executing testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities on Gutor Industrial UPS systems in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This role ensures that all tests are performed safely, accurately, efficiently, and documented properly. The Test Engineer supports continuous improvement of testing processes, collaborates with engineering teams to resolve technical issues, and contributes to maintaining high testing reliability and product quality. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Testing & Technical Responsibilities Perform functional, load, performance, and special tests on UPS systems and related equipment following Gutor procedures and safety guidelines. Review project documentation related to testing requirements and clarify special test needs with Project Managers/Engineers when necessary. Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing and collaborate with senior engineers, industrialization, or design engineering for resolution. Maintain an understanding of available test equipment and testing capabilities within the Test Bay. Assist in defining and refining testing standards, procedures, and requirements for special tests. Support evaluation and implementation of new test equipment, tools, and processes. Document test results thoroughly, including observations, deviations, and recommended improvements. Support qualification testing of components and systems when required. Process Documentation & Equipment Support Follow all Test Bay work instructions, safety instructions, and testing processes. Provide feedback when documentation improvements are needed and support updates where appropriate. Ensure assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained and identify when calibration or service is required. Support preventive maintenance activities for Test Bay infrastructure when requested. Contribute to identifying bottlenecks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities in testing workflows. Assist the Test Bay Planner by providing accurate time estimates for testing activities when needed. Practice autonomous maintenance for assigned tools and test equipment. Cross-functional Collaboration Work with Engineering and R&D teams to clarify technical requirements and support issue resolution. Provide practical testing feedback to design and development teams to help improve testability and product robustness. Participate in quality improvement activities and provide input to root-cause analyses when assigned. Safety Responsibilities Strictly apply all safety rules and electrical safety procedures in the Test Bay. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe testing environment. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment concerns immediately. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background. Experience in electrical measurement, testing, and troubleshooting. 3-5 years of relevant experience testing UPS, power electronics, charging systems, or similar industrial electrical equipment. Strong understanding of electrical safety hazards and safe working practices. Knowledge of power electronics, transformers, chokes, capacitors, and control systems. Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues during day‑to‑day testing. Familiarity with 8D, Six Sigma, or similar structured problem‑solving methods. Good command of English, written and verbal. Strong MS Office skills and clear documentation habits. High flexibility, adaptability, and a hands‑on approach to problem solving. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Gutor in the US.
