Position Overview :
The Systems Test Director will lead the quality assurance practice in our large global software organisation. This role is all encompassing from validation, software automation, bench testing, on-water testing and our customer validation fleet. You will be able to lead a large QA practice in an agile environment and monitor/report key measures for the wider engineering team to improve against. The team is in Auckland, Tulsa, Chicago, Ensenada, the UK and Europe.
You will take a holistic approach to quality using root cause analysis and have an agile mindset to create sustained improvements.

Essential Functions:
Ultimately accountable for the systems test and test automation organisation, and the quality outcomes of the products.
Management and supervision of direct and indirect employees to foster a global environment. Must be a strong leader and motivator.
Ownership of the system test strategy and execution to ensure all angles of quality are handled at the right level of the test pyramid with a focus on automation (SiL, HiL, product-level testing).
Implement, evolve and report appropriate measurements, metrics and test reports.
Advocate for CI/CD, test automation and against short-term thinking that drives up technical debt.
Research and experiment with new test technology to improve quality and cycle time.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver these to a global audience.
Partner with the field service team to support triage, detect trends and put in preventative measures
Collaborate with software, hardware, mechanical and validation engineering leaders.
Work closely with global product management and the senior leadership team on product roadmaps, strategy and research.

Required Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience in a QA Manager role with global experience
10+ years of experience in QA
Knowledge of embedded software, CANBus, networking, cloud, mobile, hardware, and ML.
Bachelor's or Master's degree relevant to the role.
Proven leader of people who can get results and the best of people
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with a global team/audience.
Excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve disputes on a global basis
Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.
Ability to react very quickly to new duties and situations encountered on the job.
Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organisation
