A chargeback analyst is responsible for investigating and resolving credit card disputes and retrieval. Requires detailed transaction research, analytical skills, sound decisions and documentation of actions taken including phone calls to merchants, ISO, and others as appropriate. Apply card associations industry regulations and practices in resolving disputes, working recover funds for chargebacks, and implementing measures to minimize loss and educating our merchants to prevent future disputes. Job Functions: Begins to develop an intermediate knowledge, pertaining card brands (i.e. Visa/MasterCard/Discover), governing chargebacks, retrieval processes and procedures. Maintain knowledge of all card brands regulations and the ability to utilize and understand the card brands regulations rule manuals. Work chargeback cases from start to finish which includes, merchant notification of the chargeback, gathering the required information for the dispute reason code, reviewing documentation to make a sound educated decision and representing the case to the card brand. Communicating the outcome of the case back to the merchant/sales office when necessary. Work retrieval cases from start to finish which includes merchant notification, reviewing merchant responses, reaching out to merchant if additional information is needed and making sound decisions on fulfilling request to the card brand.
