Job DescriptionAs a Senior Electrical Engineer for Cox Automotive, you will perform a variety of complex engineering duties to design, plan, and oversee the development of electric/electronic devices and systems applied to servicing EV batteries.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and test electrical circuits to support test and measurement of EV batteriesBuild prototypes and work with E-lab production team to build and modify electronic devicesOversee, coordinate, and review the work of a small staff of engineers and techniciansMaintain and improve existing engineering processesConduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipmentAssist with recruitment, training, and onboardingEnsure projects are completed on time and to specificationsAct as a subject matter expert regarding electrical engineering activitiesDocumentation of wiring harnesses/diagramsTesting and debugging of hardware/firmwareRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related fieldRequires strong knowledge of Schematic capture and multilayer PCB design experienceHand soldering proficiency (PTH and SMT)Test Equipment proficiency (Oscilloscope, Function Gen, Multimeter, etc )C++ programming on embedded devices experienceKnowledge of industry standard board design practices (IPC-2221A, UL-840, or industry standard that you designed around)Excellence colloboration skills to work effectively with teams throughout organizationExperience with CAN bus and RS-485Experience with Power electronics designExperience with mixed signal circuit designPreferredMaster of Science (M.S.) in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fieldExperience with Cadsoft Eagle or Altium DesignerMachine shop experience (Lathe, Mill, Bandsaw)Experience with AVR MicrocontrollersExperience with Impedance SpectroscopyExperience with Lithium BatteriesHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid time offRemote work optionsFlexible scheduleParental leave
