Role Summary:
Are you passionate about patient care and helping people live active lives? We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual with a passion for patient care in an orthopedic setting and background in Durable Medical Equipment to join us as an Orthotist in Brooklyn, NY .

The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the business need.
Educates patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and expectations of orthopedic equipment and orthotic devices.
Assists with patient evaluations, including basic assessments, measurements, fittings, and casting activities, in accordance with established guidelines and scope of practice.
Reviews prescriptions, gathers relevant patient information, and maintains accurate clinical documentation to support patient care and billing requirements.
Communicates device instructions, wear schedules, and general cost information, and follows up on basic routine patient questions or concerns.
Coordinates with internal teams to support scheduling, billing, and patient care needs; escalates complex or non-routine issues to appropriate clinical or leadership staff.
Adheres to all Enovis Compliance and Ethics Programs, OIG, government healthcare regulations, regulatory policies and procedures set forth by clinic/hospital, and HIPAA in accordance with government agency requirements.
Minimum Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing orthotist, occupational therapy, or physical therapy services as, or under the supervision of, a certified practitioner.
Demonstrates willingness to learn and apply new skills
Thorough understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and medical terminology.
Understanding of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) documentation, coding, and billing practices and requirements strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Computers Unlimited TIMS, or other billing/inventory system) strongly preferred .
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy required.
