What your day-to-day as an Inventory & Asset Control Coordinator at Fermilab will look like: Maintain inventory of the Laboratory's capital, accountable, and sensitive assets in accordance with established procedures and internal controls. Process incoming and outgoing excess materials and scrap requests while ensuring all asset movements are accurately documented within Fermilab's Personal Property Management Software Program (Sunflower Assets). Conduct verification audits of capital equipment, sensitive property, and assigned inventory records. Manage controlled storage areas containing equipment held for future projects, spare parts, and tooling materials. Identify, collect, sort, and coordinate disposition of scrap metals and recyclable materials. Perform physical inventories of warehouse and railhead stored materials. Enter, maintain, and reconcile personal property data within the Sunflower Assets system. Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment to move materials safely and efficiently. Drive Laboratory vehicles, including vehicles with a GVWR up to 16,000 pounds, as required for operational support. Support additional logistics, inventory, and materials management activities as assigned by leadership. Perform all duties in compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards. Skills and Attributes for Success: Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Reliable organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple inventory and warehouse tasks. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with warehouse, operations, and administrative teams. Commitment to safety, accountability, and stewardship of Laboratory assets. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Professional communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders. Applicable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) or more years of relevant experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or asset management. Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Experience as a trained forklift operator in a warehouse or industrial environment. Ability to obtain and maintain all licenses required to operate assigned vehicles and equipment. Working knowledge of inventory systems, asset tracking databases, or warehouse management tools preferred. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials consistent with position requirements. Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and record maintenance. Work Arrangement: This position is expected to work onsite at Fermilab to support daily warehouse, inventory, and asset management operations. Schedule and shift assignments may vary based on operational needs.
