Job Description This role is responsible for performing a range of field inspection activities consisting of inspecting the quality of work and materials used in a variety of TRISO-X construction projects. This role conducts verification methods through oversight to determine whether the contractor work complies with plans, specifications, industry standards, and project requirements. This role may work from an active construction site setting, which may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind. The noise level may be loud, with frequent exposure to heavy machinery, power tools, and other construction-related equipment. In this setting, personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities: Review plans and specifications of assigned construction projects; attends construction meetings. Inspect storm water pollution control plans to ensure conformance to local regulatory requirements. Monitor and ensure that all architectural/civil/structural engineering aspects of the project are carried out as per inspection plans, drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Oversee witness and hold points designated by TRISO-X in the approved contractor's Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP). Check line, grade, size, elevation, and location of structures for conformance with plans and specifications. Perform observations of materials required for examination or analysis by laboratories; verify laboratory test results; oversee contractors and third parties performing field tests. Record quantities of used materials and work performed. Evaluate tests confirming quality requirements by conducting thorough site inspections for all architectural, civil, and structural works as per approved shop drawings, specifications, and method statements. Prepare daily activity records and assist with pay estimate reviews to verify contractor work claimed is representative of site progress. Report work progress and advise management when the contractor fails to perform work as per plans and specifications. Inspect construction work, including soil compaction, traffic control, concrete form placement, reinforcing steel, curing of concrete, steel erection, exterior cladding, interior framing, finishes, waterproofing membranes, stairs, masonry walls, and stud wall systems.Enforce compliance with plans, specifications, and proper construction practices for work such as installation of water lines, sewer, utility conduits, landscape improvements, construction of storm drains, culverts, flood control channels, catch basins, junction structures, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, roads, and parking areas. Conduct inspections at vendor/supplier facilities as requested. Monitor contractor excavation activities related to underground utilities (e.g., electrical ductbanks, city utility tie-ins). Determine punch list items for correction prior to final acceptance, ensure proper placement and maintenance of signs, barricades, and warning devices, and recommend acceptance of completed contractor work to the supervisor. Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
