Senior Materials Controller - Limerick (Regeneron)
Avantor is seeking a motivated and hands-on Senior Materials Controller to support our Laboratory Services team at a major biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Limerick.
This is an operational, on-site role focused on inventory control, stockroom activities and supporting material flow within a GMP-regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Operations & Inventory Management
Execute daily inventory and material handling activities in line with defined procedures
Receive, inspect and log incoming materials
Ensure proper storage and organisation of stock
Distribute materials to end users in a timely manner (OTIF support)
Maintain accurate inventory records and system updates
Stock Control & Issue Resolution
Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy
Identify and resolve common stock discrepancies (e.g. missing/damaged items, incorrect storage locations)
Escalate more complex issues (e.g. supply interruptions or system-related issues) where required
Apply standard processes and previous experience to resolve recurring issues
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to GMP, EHS and site procedures
Maintain accurate documentation to support audits and inspections
Support audit readiness through consistent process execution
Team & Site Support
Support and guide Material Controllers in day-to-day activities
Assist with workload coordination across the team
Act as a point of contact for routine queries from site stakeholders
Communicate activity records and service updates to supervisor and team
Continuous Improvement
Identify simple opportunities to improve stockroom efficiency and accuracy
Support implementation of process improvements
Requirements
Education
Leaving Certificate (required)
Relevant qualification (desirable, not essential)
Experience in inventory control, stockroom or warehouse operations
Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment
Experience in a regulated (GMP/GLP) environment is an advantage
Previous experience supporting or guiding team members is beneficial
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational role
Ability to follow defined procedures and resolve recurring issues
Basic IT and Excel skills
Good communication skills
