Production Planner
Curtiss-Wright Engineered Pump Division (EPD), based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is a leading supplier of pumps and components which meet the demanding requirements of the U.S. Navy's surface and submerged fleet. In addition, EPD also provides a wide variety of spare and replacement parts, composite pump components, and support services for complete overhaul, upgrade and in-field expertise.
Assigned to the Program Management Office of the EPD business unit, this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced planner to step into a challenging role of all aspects of project planning.
You will have responsibilities to assigned projects working across departments including Quality, Sourcing, Engineering and Operations to create requisitions for materials and services, track status of purchase orders to update project schedules and be a contributing team member to developing best practices in support of continuous improvement. You possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and proven competencies with ERP systems and other computer software (e.g.; Oracle and Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Salary: $65,000 to $82,000

Your Challenge
Responsible for all planning activities relative to EPD pump projects.
Reviews manufacturing requirements generated by Engineering and then time-phases the requirements to support the Integrated Master Schedule.
Determines material requirements from engineering and need by dates based on production schedules and contract delivery dates.
Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, quality, production, engineering, testing, and scheduling.
Plans parts requirements for layouts (kitting) and assemblies
Prepares work orders/purchase requisitions for the production or procurement of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Also, prepares routings, pick lists, and shop job packets.
Assists management in resolving problems concerning over-shipments, shortages, engineering changes and cancellations.
Monitors and records status-to-plan data.
May lead activities of non-exempt personnel.
Recommends inventory levels to meet project requirements.
Other duties as necessary.
What You Bring
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances.
Bachelor's Degree in or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of production, material, or project planning experience (BOM structure).
Prior experience working in the Defense Industry is preferred.
Knowledge or experience with Government contracting projects.
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, and logistics.
Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system is an asset.
Having worked in project teams.
Strategic sourcing experience/skills.
Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience and knowledge is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop effective working relationships.
Self-starter, highly motivated, action-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven.
