Responsibilities

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of a physician.
  • Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a gamma camera or PETCT to produce photographic or computer-generated images.
  • Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (AA) Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Required
  • 1-3 years Training/experience in Nuclear Medicine. Required
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Required or
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Nuclear Med Tech Certification Board (NMTCB) (United States of America) Required or
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Iowa Dept of Public Health (IDPH) (United States of America) Required
  • Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
  • Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
  • May be required to work/float to more than one work location.

Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday, Day Shift Job Description: Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes for therapeutic and diagnostic studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Operate Nuclear Medicine and PETCT equipment to demonstrate anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes.
