General Description: Position supports the research and field development of the Public Health products supplied by Azelis A&ES. Responsible for Field R&D activities, including the identification of new market and product opportunities, planning and conducting field research with experimental materials and products, interpreting and reporting research data, and providing technical expertise to management, sales & marketing. Works directly with representatives of government agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs), universities, multilateral funding institutions, and international donor organizations to establish technical positioning for Public Health products. Principal Responsibilities : Assist A&ES VP, Public Health, with planning of Field R&D programs, training/workshops, definition of work plan objectives, experimental design, execution of work plans, and managing the Service and Technology Department. Serve as technical liaison between A&ES sales team, vector control clients, technical staff, and A&ES marketing team. Develop and implement training modules for sales staff for internal processes and equipment functionality Develop and implement training modules for government customers on best practices for the use of A&ES solutions for mosquito vector control. Organize, initiate, and complete field trials through contracted work with various types of cooperators, including private cooperators, university and government agencies, and consultants; manage expense and outside grants budgets within annual targets; develop strong working relationships with cooperators and relevant external influencers. Report trial outcomes via timely written Monthly reports, and through presentations at A&ES' year-end Meetings, and when relevant with A&ES principal partners. Transfer technology for A&ES products and applications throughout the A&ES organization. Assist with writing product labels, official trial reports, and other product registration activities. Identify and assess strategic growth opportunities through personal knowledge/experience, employing the regional market. Act as a technical representative to customers for Public Health products. Act as support to the regional technical sales representative when applicable. Participate in the cross-functional marketing team to develop technical content supporting product launches and promotional campaigns. Represent Azelis A&ES at academic conferences and industry trade shows. Manage our Service and Technology staff, and collaborate with equipment manufacturers DEGREE OF SCOPE: JOB LEVEL - Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of technology trends, industry practices, and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. JOB COMPLEXITY - Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. SUPERVISION - Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. TYPICAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GUIDELINES: Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) with minimum 5 years' experience in technical field-based work is required; an advanced degree (PhD or MS) is desired . Excellent writing and presentation skills in English. Knowledge of typical statistical procedures & experimental design. Computer competencies to include word-processing, document handling (Acrobat), spreadsheet, statistical, and presentation software within a Windows environment. Skilled in the use of application equipment commonly used in field trials. Able to manage technical support personnel (interns and temporary help) when required. Expected to function with only periodic supervision; works independently for the majority of responsibilities.
